Among these, the King Seiko 4402-8000 is a standout second-generation model that embodies the design language and technical precision of its era. At its core lies the Caliber 4402A, a manual-winding movement with 25 jewels, beating at 18,000 vph and offering a 40-hour power reserve. This caliber features a quick-set date function, a rarity for the 1960s, along with a central seconds hand for precise reading. Known for its reliability and durability, the 4402A was part of Seiko’s relentless push to prove Japanese watchmaking on the global stage. The 35mm stainless steel case carries all the hallmarks of the King Seiko aesthetic: clean lines, crisp polishing, and elegant proportions. A silver dial with polished dauphine hands and applied markers gives the watch a timeless, understated presence, while the plexiglass crystal preserves its vintage character. On the reverse, the gold medallion caseback reminds you of the prestige that King Seiko represented in its day. Produced throughout the mid-to-late 1960s, the 4402-8000 offers both historical significance and daily wearability. This example remains in great condition for its age, showing only minor scratches here and there from careful wear (mostly on the caseback). The dial is clean and crisp, the crystal is clear. Hands and indices can see some natural marks. It has been recently serviced and is keeping great time at +/-5s a day. The watch comes fitted on custom leather straps.
