Produced in the 1970s and sold primarily as a Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) release, it’s a piece that doesn’t come up often outside Japan and remains a sleeper hit among collectors. At the heart of this watch is the Citizen Caliber 8100A, a 23-jewel automatic movement launched in 1972. What makes it special? It’s not just a chronograph, it’s a flyback chronograph, allowing you to reset and restart timing in one push. Add in the ability to hand-wind, and you’ve got one of the most advanced and versatile movements of its era. The stainless steel case measures around 37–38mm, keeping proportions comfortable while giving enough wrist presence. The black dial with white baton hour markers is paired with a matching black tachymeter bezel, completing the sporty aesthetic. Like any true vintage watch, it carries a bit of honest patina, with the acrylic crystal showing natural signs of age and wear. This example remains in great condition for its age, showing only minor scratches (mostly on the caseback). The dial is clean and crisp, the crystal is clear. Hands and indices can see some natural marks. It has been recently serviced and is keeping great time at +/-5s a day. The watch comes fitted on the OEM bracelet that fits up to 19cm (7.2 inches).
