Avi-8 is a fun British-born brand that generally sticks to themselves of aviation with some really interesting and unique designs. They're typically on the larger side and powered by quartz movements, so this limited edition with a simpler design and smaller case size was instantly appealing to me - especially with the W&W seal of approval built in. They've been making watches since 2012, and it seems like they have better and better designs each year. The watch itself is instantly like nothing I've had before - a 37mm case with longer lugs and a rubber strap that gives the look and feel of an integrated bracelet/strap case design. The combination of sandblasted case sides, polished chamfering, brushed finishes on the lugs and bezel, and the black knurled bezel/crown is probably the most satisfying combination I've handled in the last year or so. The clean black dial is set with lume block Arabic numerals, and the date/crown at 4:30 make this watch extremely usable.
