Hey watchfam I’m very excited to introduce you Parmigiani Tonda PF Skeleton ref. PFC912-1020001-100182.

I want to apologize for the essay but i feel this watch deserves more than a short description.

Parmigiani produces around 2500 watches per year, so any variant or a Parmigiani timepiece is going to be scarce. While the correct production on this skeleton is unknown, being a flagship model the production on this is very very limited. In all likelihood a few dozen of these skeletons are made each year. That means that you can’t just go to the store and buy one, there are waiting lists for those and they literally can take years if you’re lucky to allocate one.

The watch comes in at just 40 mm in diameter and is elegantly slender, at just 8.5 mm in height. The bezel is fluted and made from 950 platinum. On top of that, like your Datejust, the watch has a screw down crown and is water resistant to 100m.

In my opinion this is probably the most readable skeleton on the market! The graceful curves and flowing structures cut into the dial plate have a grey NAC coating. Alternating vertical brushing and sandblasted areas on the bridges and plates produces a distinct, contemporary vibe. If you manage to view the bridges from the side, you’ll notice that the bevelled edges have a mirror-polished chamfer (executed by hand) that attracts the light. At ten o’clock, the exposed mainspring reveals the state of wind and the gold oval PF logo is engraved on the movement plate at noon. The moving parts are rhodium-plated to contrast with the graphite bridges, but the overall mood is toned-down and monochromatic.

PF777 movement (3.9 mm thick with 60 hours of power reserve) is the sand-blasted and satin-finished graphite coloring of the bridges softens the beauty of the reflections on their curves.

The view from the sapphire caseback reveals the skeletonised 22k gold rotor with the oval gold PF logo protected by a sapphire crystal. Like the dial, the openworked bridges are graphite coloured with alternating sandblasted and vertical brushing and immaculately polished bevels. Even the screws and jewels respect the monochrome palette with no trace of bright ruby red or blued screws in sight.

The watch comes as a complete set and is unworn and unsized.
