The name originates from a pocket watch it produced in 1924. The Mayor of Tokyo, Mr. Shimpei Goto, named the watch "CITIZEN", in the hopes the watch would become a worldwide success. Here we have a stainless steel Citizen Eagle 7 with its 36mm "Oyster-style" case tapered for a comfortable fit on your wrist. A fluted bezel, reminiscent of a Datejust, holds a flat mineral crystal. The dial has an outer minute track with lume pips. Steel applied baton indexes to mark the hours. At 3 o’clock, a framed day/date window. Slim pencil hands have lume infill—Applied “Citizen” at 12 o’clock and the “Eagle 7” at 6 o’clock. On the reverse a screw-down case back. Inside an Automatic Miyota Cal. 8200A, 21 Jewels, 21,600 beats per hour. The movement is a real workhorse and has a quick set date and can be hand-wound.
