RXW was the brand name created by the legendary Ken Sato to create a
watch to rival the look and feel of the Rolex's of that era but at a price point
that was more affordable. No corners were cut and the everything about the
timepieces screamed quality. The movements were Swiss ETA's and everything
else was manufactured and assembled by Ken Sato in Japan. The quality and
finish was so high that Rolex initiated a lawsuit for Ken to cease production.
Ken eventually gave up on the law suite and retired the company.

So, RXW watches are rare. This piece in particular is one that was based on
the Rolex 1016 Space Dweller that was released for the Japanese market.
Very few piece of that model were actually made and even fewer people
are actually aware that the model ever existed. The actual watch was a
rebranded version of the Rolex 1016 Explorer.

This is Ken's homage and he decided to call it the Space Ranger.
The Space Ranger is a little larger than original 1016 and wears better because
of it.

The condition of the watch is used, but very sparingly. Overall in great condition
given its age. I have not worn it on the bracelet and that, again is in great condition.
It has all original links and will fit a large wrist. Endlinks are a nice tight fit to the case.

I am also including either the really nice vintage minimal stitched brown leather strap
or the the green leather strap - your choice.

Time keeping is approx. 2 s/day. Serviced in 2023 and buttery smooth operation of the
crown and winding. Plenty of pictures to see its quality.

If you have ever lusted after a 1016, then this is about as close as you can come to the
real deal without breaking the bank. You will probabaly never see another - its that rare.
