From the master watchmaker Hajime Asaoka, the Chronograph 1 MK.2 is an exercise in sophistication and refinement. This limited release is—without argue—the most beautiful and balanced model of all Kurono Tokyo’s limited edition chronographs.
I proudly wore this Kurono to a local watch meetup and all the high-end collectors drooled over this timepiece (figuratively). This is for the serious collectors, designed by a master watchmaker who creates timepieces costing $30K to well over $100K, with a multiple-years waiting list.
I’ve worn this watch with the utmost respect and care, only on special occasions, guarding it like a newborn baby. There are some very limited, very light superficial hairlines on the polished areas, but absolutely no deep scratches or dings. This watch is stunning.
As for the movement chosen by Hajime Asaoka to be the soul of this watch, it is the premium NE86, whose architecture is traced back through decades and generations of reliable service. From his website:
“Hajime Asaoka chose the mechanical chronograph calibre NE86 from one of Japan's most esteemed movement manufactures. Positioned by SII as its newest flagship chronograph movement and successor to the 6S - it is a premium caliber, the 311-part movement combines traditional chronograph features like a column wheel, vertical clutch, and a magic lever winding system; it has a unique three-pointed hammer system that starts, stops, and resets all three wheels simultaneously. This allows for all the counters to advance continuously rather than only at one-minute intervals. Additionally, instead of driving the minute and hour counters from the chronograph seconds wheel, each is driven by a powered wheel with its own clutch. This delivers increased accuracy and longer-term durability. The movement has a power reserve of 45 hours. The NE86 is a movement that even Mr. Asaoka, who makes his own movements, trusts.”

Comes with boxes, papers, and all the cool accessories from Kurono, including (as a gift from me) a high-quality, high-grade alligator strap and butterfly clasp. The original strap and original buckle are included and are in great condition.
