[WTS] Vintage West End Watch Co. With Exceptional Radium Patina
Listing 3 watches of what I can't understand for the life of me why this brand is THAT much underrated. These watches used to be issued to British officers and Civil service officers in India. The company still stands today independently owned and holds itself in high regard amongst the Gulf countries. West end were the first company to use a Taubert/Borgel decagonal cases (famously used by Patek), and the first to ever use Incabloc shock protection in their watches. Plus they have such exceptional designs that screams vintage goodness! # Case These watches are really sturdy. They're built so well that I genuinely hadn't came across an example that wasn't simply running very well. The Borgel case does an exceptional job in protecting the internals of the watch, Borgel decagonal cases feature two separate case backs, and a beefed up crown. The examples shown are 30mm wide, 37mm long, 7mm thin 17mm lugwidth **(Fixed bars)**. That's the original size that's made by Borgel. # Dial I could swear they've put so much thought/research into the dial, it's so easy to read that I favor it over my other 38mm+ watches in terms of legibility (I know it sounds ridiculous). Absolutely perfect and even original Radium patina amongst the two black dial models, and a rare green configuration. # Bracelet They usually came with a Bonklip style bracelet that's made by Everbright (very reminiscent of Gay Freres bracelets), these also bear exceptional quality and look awesome on the wrist, I always receive positive comments when I'm wearing one, plus they're very comfortable and fit 20+cm wrists. In terms of watch bracelets, think of this one as v1.0. The original. The green dial one is fitted a fine leather genuine strap by Hirsch (I'll provide the original strap box with the watch. # Condition These watches have been stored in a closing shop for most of their life. Condition is as shown in the photos, but the timekeeping is excellent. Asking $275 for each watch. Or $599 for all three if you would like to acquire them all at once. PayPal G&S as recommended in this sub. And the prices cover 3 business day international shipping. I'm located in New Cairo, Egypt if you'd like to meet up.
