Up for sale is this very cool MDM Geneve era Hublot Super B chronograph. I don’t know the exact year of production of this watch, but my best guess is sometime in the late 90s/early 2000s. I think these MDM Geneve era pieces are undervalued and poised to pop within the collector community soon. The quality is excellent, design language interesting and influential in the current Hublot catalogue, and case proportions modest (compared to modern Hublot watches that regularly exceed 45mm+).   For those that don’t know, MDM Geneve was the initial name of the company that later came to be Hublot. Hublot was actually the name of the first model watch that MDM Geneve produced. Around 2004, Jean-Claude Biver took ownership in the company, rebranded it Hublot, and the rest is history.   This piece I believe is the first chronograph reference (1920.1) produced by MDM/Hublot. The case is 42mm and the lug-to-lug measurement is 52mm. It is very wearable for most wrist sizes/shapes. The case is about 13mm thick. The dial has a very cool matte brown/FDE color that contrasts nicely against the black subdials and green applied lume. There are no marks, imperfections, etc. on the dial – it is flawless. The case is in excellent condition, showing no major scratches, chips, dents, dings, etc., and I believe it to be unpolished. The butterfly clasp has very light desk marks but is also in very nice condition. The watch was serviced within the last 1.5 years and is running well, as seen in the timegrapher photo. You can also see in one of the videos that the chronograph starts, stops, and resets to 12 perfectly. Overall I rate this watch easily a 9/10+. There is no box or papers included in this sale, it is watch only.   A note on the rubber strap: the OEM Hublot rubber strap on the watch currently is sized for a 6.5” wrist. The strap is not adjustable/cuttable. However, it is very easy to get a different sized strap if you go to a Hublot boutique or AD. They will measure your wrist and order the correct size for you, which takes about two weeks. The cost is $200.   I have plenty of good feedback on this sub and can provide reputable references in the watch industry if need be. Happy to jump on FaceTime as well!   I am asking $3,250 including free, insured shipping in the US. International buyers will be considered on a case-by-case basis.   Links to albums below.
