Up for sale is a fully original railtrack dial Omega Constellation. These railtrack dials are much less common than their pie pan siblings, but just as cool - if not cooler. The one offered here has a “special chronometer” movement (details below). These railtrack dials are quite unique and uncommon. Dial and hands are non-luminous, an uncommon find as most of these had radium lume. Case: Original 34.5mm stainless steel 14381 reference case has wear but presents well. Stars on the gold observatory medallion are faintly visible. Crown: Correct thin scalloped crown that often came on these railtrack models. Much easier to wind than the decagonal ones. Crystal: Generic crystal is free of scratches. Movement: The original 551 caliber 1701** serial number movement is a "special chronometer" movement that was part of a consecutive run of 20K movements that received chronometer certification with especially high accuracy. Movement runs and winds okay but it needs service. The caseback gasket has degraded, hence the black gunk on the movement. Strap: Comes on the brown DeBeer leather strap pictured.
