Hi everyone, Selling this world timer in excellent condition (minus the smudge on the dial) made in August 1970. Because it's one of the early models the bezel for the UK time zone listed London and GMT at different locations to reflect the UK's experiment with British Summer Time (BST), which ran from 1968 to october 1971. This is not a manufacturing error but an accurate reflection of the time period's reality, making it a historically significant "Error Bezel". This watch has another turning point in history engraved on it besides the historic 'Error bezel' this is 'Waterproof'. Seiko stopped using the term "waterproof" for their watches starting around 1970, transitioning to "water resistant" to comply with a U.S. law that took effect that year and required more accurate terminology. By 1971, Seiko watches featured "resist" or "water resistant" markings instead of "waterproof" on their dials and case backs, though the full transition wasn't immediate or entirely clear-cut. Condition: The crystal and case have some very slight user markings and are in very good condition, especially considering the watch is 55+ years old. All functions are working as they should (Automatic winding, GMT hand, rotation of the bezel, date, time, etc all work like it's 1970). The bad: The dial has a smudge in the middle, besides the smudge the dial (and bezel) are very clean and show almost no fading of the lettering at all. The dial could be replaced but I'm selling it as is in it's original condition for the buyer to decide.
