Age Of Discovery watch series was launched by Seiko in 1990s to commemorate 500 yrs since the discovery of American continent. Features: 1. Perpetual Calendar – Automatically adjusts the calendar for odd and even months and correctly handles leap years, removing the need to reset the date manually. 2. Interesting design - clear resemblance with a ships wheel with 4 buttons at the sides of the case and similarly shaped lugs 3. “Dancing Hands” Display – When switching between modes (Time, Calendar, Alarm), hands reposition themselves to point to the relevant calendar or time indications — a signature characteristic of this line. Long-Range Calendar Span – tracks dates from the early 1400s through the 2400s. 5. Calendar Search Function – Allow you to find out the day of the week for any given date within the supported range — useful historically or for curiosity. 6. Alarms - there are 2 options - daily alarms or just one-time alarm. Same as in your G-Shock lol Each hand has 2 tips and used in multiple ways: - O hand indicates the current hour while its opposite blue crescent hand shows the month - Black sword hand shows the minute while the red tipped hand shows the year - Black needle hand shows the day of the week and seconds. - With the twist of the crown you can switch the watch to show its “calendar”, switch to “alarm” to set an alarm, or set to the “time” setting to check the current time. Case is in great condition for its age, crystal is unscratched. The gold plating is literally un-touched, no deterioration. There’s couple of scratches on the Columbus ship medallion, but the ship engraving is in a very good condition. OEM strap is in very good shape, literally not yet broken in. Pin buckle is a generic one. I’ve just installed a fresh battery. Ebay and Chrono24 comps are exorbitant at $1,500-2000 USD, not sure what these guys are expecting. My price is $1050 USD + label.
