Deeply rooted in aviation, engineering, and performance, the Chronomat embodies everything a high-end Swiss tool watch should be—functional, robust, and unmistakably bold. Reference B13050.1 belongs to what many collectors consider the golden age of the Chronomat. Produced in the mid-1990s, this era retained a purely mechanical identity and a highly wearable 39mm case, long before modern Chronomats grew in size. On the wrist, it strikes a rare balance between vintage proportions and confident presence. The instantly recognizable design is highlighted by the iconic rider-tab bezel, fitted with four solid 18k yellow gold blocks at 3-6-9-12. These serve both form and function—allowing easy bezel operation, protecting the sapphire crystal from impact, and offering excellent grip even when worn over gloves. It’s a clever and purposeful design that has become synonymous with Breitling. The ivory white dial features a classic tri-compax chronograph layout, true to the original Chronomat design. Clean sub-dials contrast beautifully against the dial, while the raised tachymeter and minute scales add subtle depth and visual interest. Luminous hands and markers ensure legibility in all conditions, staying true to the watch’s tool-watch DNA. Powering the watch is Breitling Caliber 13, a COSC-certified automatic chronograph based on the legendary Valjoux 7750. Known for its stability, durability, and ease of servicing, it offers a 12-hour chronograph, date at 3 o’clock, and dependable everyday performance. Water resistance is rated at 100 meters, making it perfectly suitable for regular wear. The watch is in excellent condition, with no scratches nor dents. The crystal is clear and clean with very clear unaffected AR coating, dial is flawless. It comes on custom leather straps with original Breitling buckle. The movement has recently been serviced and is keeping excellent time at +/-5s a day. It comes with standard watch box, no papers.
