Hi everyone! I’m putting up a beautiful Omega Constellation ‘Pie Pan’ in a gold-capped execution. This is the well known and sought after dog-legged gold-capped model, bearing the reference 14902, which was Omega’s older numbering system before they switched to the 168.005 system later around the mid 60s, and is essentially the same watch. The popularity and significance of the ‘pie pan’ is well known, and this one is no exception—it’s a pretty piece in person! It has a great construction and feel to the gold-capped case design, and the well-proportioned 35mm dimension (excluding the crown), signature dog-legged lugs, and flat profile makes for an excellent dressy statement piece.  The dial is very well preserved, and apart from some very light but negligible patina on the outer edges on the dial, everything is in great condition. The robust caliber 561 automatic movement with date runs well with a recent service in December of 2025. Its beautiful 14K real gold-capped case has definitely seen some polishing in its lifetime; however since gold is naturally a soft material, this is inevitable; but all edges and angles are where they should be and visible.  The gold observatory emblem on the case back is also untarnished with original textures in the background. Its crown is also its correct 10-sided one with the period-correct logo. I’ve paired it with a new faux-alligator style leather strap in a nice brown colour, with a gold Omega pin buckle.
