**OVERVIEW** Up for sale is a mid-size Cartier Ceinture from the 1970s with a Paris-signed dial, a distinct octagonal 18k yellow gold case, and the Cartier caliber 78.1 hand-wound movement ticking inside. The Ceinture ("belt" in French) is known for its angled case that resembles a belt's buckle and its unique flat crown that sits within a cutout inside of the bezel. Cartier first produced these watches in 1927 and the resurrected the line in the mid 1970s in three different case sizes: 25mm, 27mm, and 31mm. What I have here is the mid-size 27mm version that wears similarly to a vintage Tank Louis (23mm x 30mm) of the same era. That is to say, it's a supremely charming fit on the wrist. **CONDITION** This Cartier Ceinture is in good condition. The case has a few little nicks and hairlines consistent with normal wear throughout the years. The case back engravings are sharp, and are currently protected by a clear sticker. The white dial has taken on a subtle "spider" effect with hairline cracks throughout. This is a rather cool effect found in many of the white-dial Cartiers of the 70s and 80s. There is minor staining at the edge, most notably at the 2 o'clock position. The watch comes with a brand new black saffiano strap from Veblenist as well as a brown lizard calfskin from JB Champion. The service history of the watch is unknown. All functions including the crown-winding and time-setting are working as expected. The movement accuracy has been manually observed and the watch appears to be running normally. **SPECIFICATIONS** **Brand:** Cartier **Model:** Ceinture **Reference:** N/A **Year:** Circa 1970s **Case Number:** 78099XXXX **Material:** 18k yellow gold **Diameter:** 27mm x 27mm **Lug Width:** 16mm **Dial:** White **Lume:** None **Crystal:** Sapphire **Movement:** Cartier caliber 78.1 **Bracelet/Strap:** Veblenist black saffiano strap **Accessories:** Cartier pouch, additional JB Champion lizard calfskin strap Pictures: https://imgur.com/a/dL9xmeO Timestamp: https://imgur.com/b3mzC8t **PRICE & DELIVERY** I'm asking **$3,900** net to me via PayPal or bank transfer.
