Romain Jerome was founded in 2004 and as the company's identity grew it was clear it was not another run of the mill watch company. Romain Jerome insisted on its "DNA" philosophy. What's that you ask? Simple, instead of making another dive watch with tons of lume and helium escape valves, it designed a steampunk inspired watch with the essence of the sea. In their case, literal steel from the Titanic...yes that Titanic. Space watch? Move over Speedy, these moon inspired pieces have parts of the Apollo 11 spacecraft (purchased from NASA) infused in them, fibers from space suits worn on the ISS, and literal lunar dust infused with silver to depict the lunar surface. That's right, the speedmaster may steal the history but these RJ's have moon dust in them. As time went on, RJ began to merge watchmaking with generational icons throughout the 80's and 90's. Enter the Capsule Space Invaders line. Built upon the moon series case, the Capsules Space Invader line features a Polished black PVD coated steel 46mm case containing **parts of the Apollo 11 spacecraft**, a tri-level bead blasted and satin brushed dial featuring the iconic Space Invaders video game, 4 ball joints to allow the band to freely articulate, and a Silver infused with moon dust medallion on the case back. Inside is the RJ001-A1 automatic movement with a 28,800 VPH and a 42 hour power reserve. Box and papers (digital USB) and warranty dated 2017. The first rendition of the Space Invaders line was a multicolored dial limited to 78 pieces. The additional release of the Space Invaders line consisted of 5 solid color dials with only **8** made of each color. In other words, there are only 7 other blue dialed Space Invaders RJ's out there in the world. This blue version was the first release of this new collection and exclusive to Colette- a ultra luxury store and gallery in Paris. MSRP over 15,000 if you could get your hands on one.
