For sale is a Glashütte Original Senator Chronograph XL, 39-34-21-42-04, with a beautiful silver dial, and an even more beautiful caliber 39-34 movement visible through the sapphire display caseback. The lug width of only 51 mm and the short, curved lugs make the watch wear much smaller than the case diameter would suggest. Comes with the original high quality alligator leather strap with the GO deployment clasp in excellent condition as you can see in the pictures. The watch is also in an excellent condition as you can see in the pictures with only faint marks on them. I rarely wore this watch, and when I did, it was mostly worn with a Hirsch Modena Alligator Embossed Calf Leather Strap to give it an even more casual feel. With either band, the watch is extremely comfortable to wear, and fits with both casual and dressy occasions. Casual because of the chronograph and the tachymeter scales, and dressy because of the silver dial that's even prettier than what could be captured in the pictures. A very versatile piece, this. The movement and the finishing are top-notch and hard to beat at this price. In fact, I think it would be hard to beat at twice the price. Easily at the level of JLC and Zenith, and well above movements from Omega, Rolex and IWC in that price range. The sapphire crystal is slightly domed for the vintage feel. The chronograph pushers are rounded and pill-shaped, which make them look very elegant. The bezel is stepped to slip under the cuff easily. The dial is satin silver, and the subdials are countersunk and have thin concentric circles engraved in them – a lovely detail. The rehaut has a nicely engraved tachymeter scale.
