For sale is a Seiko Spirit Mechanical SCVS003, the predecessor to the popular SARB033. Personally, I prefer the SVCS003 over the SARB033. Here are the differences between the two: * SCVS003 has no rehaut (chapter ring), and the minute markings are directly printed on the dial * SCVS003 has lume on the outer edge of the hour markers (SARB033 has them on the inner edge) * SCVS003 has the additional text "DIASHOCK" on the dial, and the font is different * SCVS003 has a different style bracelet than the oyster style on the SARB033 Specs are as follows: * Case width: 38mm (w/o crown) * Lug to lug length: 45mm * Lug spacing: 20mm * Thickness: 11.5mm * Crystal: flat sapphire * Movement: Seiko 6R15 automatic * WR rating: 100 meters (10 bars) The watch is in good condition, with plenty of surface marks on the case especially on the polished bezel and case sides. I don't see any deep scratches or dings. The sapphire crystal is perfect. The movement is running well and keeping good time. The company was founded in 1881, when Kintarō Hattori opened a watch and jewelry shop called "K. Hattori" (服部時計店 Hattori Tokeiten?) in the Ginza area of Tokyo, Japan. Eleven years later, in 1892, he began to produce clocks under the name Seikosha (精工舎 Seikōsha?), meaning roughly "House of Exquisite Workmanship". According to Seiko's official company history, titled "A Journey In Time: The Remarkable Story of Seiko" (2003), Seiko is a Japanese word meaning "exquisite" or "success" ("exquisite" is usually written 精巧 from Chinese jīngqiǎo, while the meaning "success" is usually written 成功 from Chinese chénggōng).

Seiko is perhaps best known for its wristwatches, all of which were at one time produced entirely in-house. This includes not only major items such as microgears, motors, hands, crystal oscillators, batteries, sensors, LCDs but also minor items such as the oils used in lubricating the watches and the luminous compounds used on the hands and the dials.
