Rolex has a long and storied history with the Wimbledon tennis championships, having been the Official Timekeeper since 1978, since when a Rolex clock has stood proudly on Center Court.

The Datejust has quietly become known as the unofficial watch of Wimbledon, with many tennis stars such as Roger Federer favouring the timepiece.

Of course, a big part of the connection is the so-called “Wimbledon Dial”, introduced in 2009. The dial is typically characterised by a slate grey dial with emerald-green Roman numerals, a colour reminiscent of the tennis court grass. It is widely regarded as THE modern Datejust dial to have and due to the high demand it commands a premium.
