My grandfather, who was a watchmaker and collector from the beginning of Glashütte after WWII (please visit the museum there when you're in Germany to learn about him and his friends). He passed his collection to my father, also a watchmaker and collector, who has passed the collection to me, just a collector – not a watchmaker. There are hundreds of German, Swiss and Asian vintage watches and I cannot keep all of them, so I will sell them one by one. These watches are the inspiration for the Glashütte Sixties reissues from the last couple of years. It's a Glashütte Original World Timer in completely original condition with all original parts. This is one of the rarest Vintage GO's and you will probably never see one like this one again. Most other World Timers are Franken Watches, as the movement was used in several other watches back then. This truly is a collector's piece and I'm not sad if I have to keep it. Only a few of these were made as they were of no use to the people in the GDR or other CCCP States(that the Glashütte Watches were exported to) who were held hostage in their own country by a communist regime.
