Running very strong and accurately, with all functions working as they should.

All parts are original to the watch as far as I know, and the case is unpolished.

I recently used some Polywatch and got the crystal back to near perfect.

I’ve never serviced it or changed the seals, so that is suggested for anyone who plans to wear this one a lot or expose it to water. I never had any issues, I just wore it in dry weather.

The dial and hands are among the “best of the best” aged lume I’ve ever seen in any vintage watch in my many years of collecting.
I hate to give this one up but I have recently restored a 6619-8060 and one “MACV SOG” Seiko is enough for my small collection of military watches.

The jury is still out on whether or not these were ever used/issued to MACV SOG units during the Vietnam war, but it’s acknowledged that they have a near identical design to watches like the 6619-8060 and 6119-8100 which were documented in books like ‘Running Recon’ to being bought, worn, and issued by MACV SOG personnel.

Experts on MACV SOG Seikos also acknowledge that the 6106-821X iterations were the best of the line in terms of quality, having stainless steel cases, both day and date quickset by crown push, applied Seiko and DX logo, upgraded movement with hacking feature, screw down caseback, ...

For detailed specs, here’s some ads for essentially the same model watch. Note that these are for 6106-8219 but the last digit just denotes distribution region and the -8217 I’m offering for sale is identical in all respects.

Hodinkee sold two of these for $1900, and referred to them as MACV SOG Seikos, and when these pop up for sale elsewhere they’re at least $1200-$1500
