This specific Grand Seiko nails a ridiculous amount of details and key points that commonly can be overlooked by even the best Swiss watchmakers. At 37mm wide, this mid-size Grand Seiko can suit almost any wrist size. On smaller wrists, it feels substantial but not over the top, whereas on larger wrists its dimensions are subtle, understated, and ludicrously versatile.  Powering this watch is the Grand Seiko 9F quartz movement, but this isn’t just any quartz movement. This highly accurate and precise movement is the smallest 9F in the Grand Seiko range with top-notch finishing and attention to detail to rival many mechanical movements at double the price. The stainless steel case of the SBGX295 has not only had the Grand Seiko care and attention it deserves on the finishing front, but it's also supremely balanced and light to the eye. The SBGX295 is certainly simple with its stark white dial but by no means is it lackluster. The dial acts as the perfect backdrop for the applied hour markers that are multi-faceted and multi-finished batons complete in a dark grey finish. This decision creates huge contrast and an incredibly legible piece even from quick glances.   The pinpoint accurate dauphine hands of this Grand Seiko are impossible to miss with their gorgeous finishing and overriding elegance. In terms of complications, this SBGX295 once again favors being restrained with just a date window at the 3 o’clock position.
