Hi watchex, Tonight I’m selling the Unimatic x Hodinkee U2-H, with three extra straps. This collaboration between the Italian masters of industrial design and the venerable watch blog was a limited run of 500 produced in 2021 (this is number 89). Based on Unimatic’s U2S Field, it features a charming grey California dial, a heavily domed crystal, screw-down crown providing 300M of water resistance, a workhorse Swiss automatic Sellita SW200-1 movement, and the truly unique 38.5mm U2 case in the thinner U2S configuration (11.8mm to the top of the crystal). The overall effect is a stunning blend of classic field watch style and modern industrial design that I personally love; this was a watch I hunted for for months. But: watches are made to be worn and unfortunately, it just doesn’t get the wrist time it deserves so I’d like to get it to someone who will wear it. It’s in excellent condition, with a few hairlines and nicks on the bezel, and some scuffs and marks from strap changes on the back. I tried to show them as faithfully as possible in the photos but none of them are visible to my eye when wearing the watch. The watch comes with the Unimatic travel case box (custom-branded for the collaboration), the warranty card, and the original unworn black cordura strap. This thing is a strap monster, so it only felt fair to include a few more 22mm straps - I’ve tossed in a black De Luca leather nato, a maroon-and-black Erica’s Original MN with black hardware, and a black-and-silver chevron nato from Crown & Buckle. **I’m asking a reduced and lightly negotiable ~~$800~~ $750 USD, shipped CONUS.** Pricing a limited edition like this is hard so I went right in the middle of the comps I was able to find.
