Notes and Info:

• For me, these first modern Railmasters are the best designed and most focused of the modern era Railmasters, and they stand apart from the current line of watches. Finding one now that hasn't been refinished badly, sometimes even more than once, is a real challenge. (You can't fix a bad refinish by grinding the case down further.)

It took me a long time to find this 100% original, totally unpolished, example. The case lines are all sharp, and every aspect of the case, bracelet, and clasp retain their original shapes. If you know what to look for, it's super easy to tell which watches have been "burned" or ground down by an unskilled hand, likely on a machine that's not a proper lapping machine.

• This particular Railmaster is for someone who knows these watches, and wants one they can "make their own." It's for someone who places value in true originality.

• I have a healthy relationship with the only shop in the US that I would trust to refinish/recut this watch, LA Watch Works. I wanted to keep this watch in its original condition, but if you want, I can arrange for LA Watch Works to refinish this watch on their lapping machine. It would come back absolutely like brand new. They are also excellent at mechanical servicing of these watches. They've worked on several watches of mine, at this point, and I recommend them whole-heartedly. Of course, you can choose to have the work done by your preferred watchmaker. This is the perfect example to start a renovation project with. (FWIW, if it was me buying this now, I’d just have it serviced, sometime down the line, and leave it unpolished.)

• This watch even retains the original factory red wax dot, meaning the case back has never been opened.

• This watch has the later Calibre 2403B, with the 48 hours of power reserve (versus the A’s 44 hours). These Railmasters only had A and B versions of the movement. You can see the esteemed Omega certified watchmaker Archer explain it here: Railmaster movements

• This watch has recently had its bracelet totally taken apart, cleaned, and reassembled with fully secure connections. It has not been refinished in any way. The original intention was to keep this example, for the long run.

• The only reason I am selling this watch, is to help raise funds for a new business opportunity. I really like this watch a lot, and I am sad to see it go. I hope to goes to a good home; I hope that if it ever did leave that home, I would get first refusal on it.

Photos of Actual Watch:

One clear way to tell if an Omega case with Lyre lugs is still unpolished is if it retains the brushed graining that runs clear through the ends of the lugs. The only way this can be replicated, is with a lapping machine. Otherwise, the brushed finish here will be “burned” and show badly abraded edges at the lug ends. (Almost all “refinished” Omegas, these days, show that damage. Once you see it, you can’t unsee it.) You can see the all-original factory finish in these photos below:

This watch will come with the following items:

• Watch and bracelet only. No Boxes or Papers. (Guaranteed 100% authentic Omega.)
• Fresh OEM Omega Spring Bars

What I am looking for, in potential trades:
• Zenith Vintage 1969 (40 mm; rectangular case)
• Doxa - Sub 300T Professional (orange dial)
• Omega PO 2201.50 (or strap versions)
• ???

Additional Info:

• This is my personal watch. I am not a dealer or professional seller.

• Please know that I stand by all of my deals. I have traded watches on this (and other) forums for over a decade, without one single unhappy buyer. I strive for a smooth and easy experience, as that is what I’d like to encounter, whenever I’m on the buying end. My good standing in this community means a lot to me, and I take being a part of this little enthusiast world, very seriously. Feel free to ask me any questions you have about this watch.

• I am choosing to deal only with established members here, on this one. Sorry, it's nothing personal, but I will make no exceptions this time. I was burned not long ago, and I won’t let that happen ever again. Thanks for your understanding. 🍻

• I have many solid references here, and I hope the same from you.

• CONUS only for this one.

Thanks for your consideration.

Thank you, WUS.
