Hi guys,
the "raising funds for a grail" sales plan continues with this unusual Universal Genève square watch from mid 40s.
I bought this watch online from the US two years ago, I had it fully serviced immediately after by my trusty watchmaker but since then I found myself wearing it very little.
I think I can say that this is a rare watch: over the years I saw only one black dialled like this, in the collection of mr. Sala.
According to serial on the caseback, watch is from 1945 and reference is 20202.

Stainless steel 30x30 case is in good conditions, with its unusual, fancy drilled lugs. Serial numbers and reference on the outside caseback are perfectly readable. Due to those lugs, it wears great on the wrist with a 44.7mm lug to lug and 20mm lug width. Original charming domed crystal is there with just some scratches, it was politely polished by my watchmaker during service.

Original black gilt dial has some traces of age throughout but is in good shape for its age. Hands set and crown are original and in nice conditions.

Automatic in-house 139 bumper movement works great after the service, with a smooth and fluid hand winding by the crown.

Watch comes on a high quality and almost new vintage style pigskin khaki strap from a fellow leather artisan.
I recently found an original 16mm stainless steel UG buckle that will be included in the sale. It is about ten years later than the watch, but I like anyway the combo.

Before posting some pics, full disclosure about this: I'm not a good watch photographer and I find way more difficult taking pictures of a black dialled watch. Please note that I'm ready to do any others pics or video you may need, just ask.
