**Description:** This 6217-7000 is the inaugural version of the Seiko World Time that has the most sought after design and case shape. It was first released to coincide and commemorate the Tokyo Olympics in 1964. Production ran from March through November of 1964, and again as a re-release for a few months in 1967. While 99% of these bare an Olympic torch on the back, strangely, a dolphin case back version of this model was produced in *only* December of 1964 and is the rarest variation of this watch. (This one happens to be a dolphin 🐬). The dolphin was occasionally used on other Seiko models to indicate it was waterproof. Why they switched things up for this single run of the watches is anyone’s guess. This one also has its original bracelet in impeccable condition with end links. It almost looks unworn and unsized. So this is an incredibly rare combination of condition and model making it stand out among its peers. The Seiko World Time is one of the most sought after and collectible Seikos out there. Very few marks or scuffs on the watch and the crystal is blemish free. Sharp lugs without polishing and a clean movement as well. If you’re a collector you will be very pleased with this piece. Hour/minute hands may not be original but not 100% certain as I've seen others with similar hands.
