**Description:** This is an *exceedingly* rare Kelek in the “Seaboard Yachtimer” style from 1968 on a thematic gray sailcloth strap. I don’t use the word rare lightly here. Yachtimer watches from this era are coveted and rarely come up for sale. This particular watch was likely either a souvenir or award from the 1968 regatta held on the Neuchâtel Lake in Switzerland. This particular watch also has a Landeron 248 movement (signed J-R Gorgerat) which is most famously used in vintage Heuer chronographs so it has quite the history. There are a few different variations of these kicking around, likely based on the year the regatta was held. Regatta, yacht timers, and "seafarer" or seaboard style watches are niche, but they are coveted among vintage watch collectors for their colorful dials and generally unique design language. There are a handful of them that can sell for tens of thousands (even hitting 6 figures), the most famous being the Tag Heuer Skipper and Abercrombie and Fitch Seafarer (also Heuer). Very minor wear on the original case with sharp lugs and the original brushing is still present. Just a few very minor dings on the lug ends when you can see in the movement photos. The movement is in phenomenal condition. It was last serviced somewhere around 18/19, but runs incredibly well and keeps great time even now. Very well cared for watch.
