I am offering for sale this fabulous time capsule piece: A vintage skin diver labelled "Roberta" (Robert Kauderer, Pforzheim, Germany) in a full stainless steel case, originally water-resistant to 20 ATM (200 metres). The watch is in outstanding condition, which can frankly be called near NOS (new old stock).
A particular highlight is the flawless anthracite or charcoal dial with a fine sunburst finish which can appear black but, depending on the light conditions, can also reflect warmer colours due to the reflective dial surface. The dial has a very clean look with short applied indices and the complete absence of a minute track. The fully lumed (Tritium) hands can be easily read and the hour hand has an outstanding shape. The luminous material is fully preserved and glows beautifully after charging. The domed plexi crystal is perfectly preserved.
The stainless steel case has the typical shape of a 1960s Skin Diver and is completely brushed (radial brushing on the front just like the famous Seiko 62MAS, vertical brushing on the slender sides). The inscriptions on the caseback and its entire surface are perfectly preserved. The bezel and non-screwed crown are also in perfect condition.
Dimensions: approx. 37.5mm in diameter without and approx. 40mm with crown, 19mm lugs, 47mm lug-to-lug distance
The watch is powered by an automatic PUW 1360 calibre; hence it can be dated to the second half of the 1960s. The movement starts immediately and keeps time clearly within vintage margins (deviation <20s/d); the service history (if any) is not known to me.
This Roberta Skin Diver comes on a Tropic-style strap from the same era, which exactly fills the 19mm lugs.
Price: Due to the fantastic condition, I am asking EUR 320,- for the watch plus insured shipping
Eventually, here come the pics (all unedited, sorry for the dust).
The watch is located in Austria (EU) and so am I. I do have plenty of international references from various watch enthusiasts (also known here), so please feel free to ask for them.
Just for the records: I am a private collector and, therefore, the watch comes without any personal guarantee given by me. Nevertheless, I am offering to give a full refund less fully insured shipping expenses in case the piece sold would not be as described by me (within an inspection period of three days and to buyers from within the EU only due to the complex customs procedure in case of an overseas deal).
Thanks for reading and thanks to the Chronotrader platform and its host!
Kind regards,
F.Antl
