**Seiko SARB033** **Condition:** Used, good. Shows signs of rubbing against desk on the bezel. Crystal is scratch free. **Box & Papers:** No **Original Bracelet Included:** No **What's Included:** Box and used leather strap marked "genuine leather" on the strap. Strap is in good condition functionally and fair condition cosmetically. **Price:** $400 shipping included CONUS. Additional shipping to be determined outside CONUS. **Payment Accepted:** Paypal, CashApp, Venmo **Description:** This Seiko SARB033 was purchased in 2014 as my first "nice" watch. It was purchased online and was new in box. For some reason I decided I wanted it on this strap and removed the bracelet and I can't find the bracelet, so watch comes with the strap only (no idea where I got the strap from, but it's not a Seiko strap). The watch was a daily driver until 2017 when I upgraded to a Hamilton Field Khaki and the watch has been sitting in a drawer since. I took it out recently and the movement wasn't working so I sent it in for service and the movement was replaced in February 2023. I can provide proof of that.

The company was founded in 1881, when Kintarō Hattori opened a watch and jewelry shop called "K. Hattori" (服部時計店 Hattori Tokeiten?) in the Ginza area of Tokyo, Japan. Eleven years later, in 1892, he began to produce clocks under the name Seikosha (精工舎 Seikōsha?), meaning roughly "House of Exquisite Workmanship". According to Seiko's official company history, titled "A Journey In Time: The Remarkable Story of Seiko" (2003), Seiko is a Japanese word meaning "exquisite" or "success" ("exquisite" is usually written 精巧 from Chinese jīngqiǎo, while the meaning "success" is usually written 成功 from Chinese chénggōng).

Seiko is perhaps best known for its wristwatches, all of which were at one time produced entirely in-house. This includes not only major items such as microgears, motors, hands, crystal oscillators, batteries, sensors, LCDs but also minor items such as the oils used in lubricating the watches and the luminous compounds used on the hands and the dials.
