Details

Dial / Crystal: Exquisite champagne dial containing the Sigma symbol below the six hour marker. The original luminous hour plots are fully intact as is the lume on the hour and minute hands. Original date wheel with open 6 and 9. Original crystal is free of any cracks or gouges and shows only minor blemishes.

Case / Bezel / Crown: Case is strong showing good lines and was likely to have been lightly polished in the past. Lugs are quite sharp with brushed factory finish still present. 36mm diameter. Reference and serial numbers are well defined. Clean caseback. Beautiful 18K yellow gold bezel. Original winding crown.

Movement: Automatic.

Bracelet: Original Rolex USA jubilee bracelet.

Accessories: None

Condition: The dial on this vintage Datejust is nearly flawless. Typically one will see some missing and/or decayed lume plots on a Ref. 1601 of this era, but not on this example. Jubilee bracelets from the 1970s usually show significant stretch; the bracelet installed on this Datejust is no different. As for the movement, the previous service history is unknown. I had the mainspring replaced in August, 2024. Currently, the timepiece is keeping very accurate time.
