For sale is my vintage automatic watch, a Seiko chronograph, the same famous 6139 Pogue taken to space on the Skylab mission. This one dates to May 1973. It has been serviced (by Seikopsycho who did it for the WUS user I traded this from) and runs perfectly. All original except for the crystal, a correct Hardlex replacement, and seals. Case and bracelet are unpolished. Correct dial and case codes, Suwa and "17" on dial.
Original, awesome H-link bracelet will fit up to 7.75”. The watch wears extremely comfortably. Clasp is nice and tight. Photos show it adjusted to my 6.75" wrist. Clasp has more room and I have an extra original link (and the original crystal).
Stunning sunburst orange dial in exceptional condition.
All functions work correctly - day and date advance shortly after midnight, internal rotating bezel, start/stop/reset of the stopwatch, timekeeping, etc. The sole quirk is that when using the quickset function to advance the date, it sticks at ‘8’ and the date needs to be advanced by either letting the watch run as normal or advancing the hands manually using the crown. (To be clear, if you set the day and date correctly and simply wear the watch, this issue will never arise.).
This is an exceptional example of this iconic watch. I searched long and hard for one like this. It’s a killer accessory. I have other watches and tend to wear smaller pieces now.
Verified PayPal G&S for active WUS users, Zelle for anyone else, in CONUS, or cash face to face, in Park Slope or near my office in lower Manhattan. Happy to answer any questions, or DM more photos. Thanks for looking.
