Kinetic watches use motion to generate energy, converting everyday movements into power. As you move, an oscillating weight spins a pinion at high speed, driving a small generator that charges a capacitor or battery. One standout feature in high-end models is Auto Relay, introduced in 1998. If the watch remains still for three days, it enters sleep mode—preserving power for up to four years. A simple shake wakes it up, and it instantly resets to the correct time.
