Developed by Seiko’s Daini division, King Seiko models were often seen as rivals to Grand Seiko, featuring modern movements with cutting-edge technology rather than relying on high jewel counts alone. Powered by the 4502A Hi-Beat movement, it runs at 36,000 bph, offering greater precision compared to the slower 62-series Grand Seiko automatics. The instantaneous date change further sets it apart, reflecting the brand’s dedication to technical innovation at the time. Notable features of the watch are : the case is stainless steel with diameter of 36.5mm, thickness of 9mm, and lug to lug of 41.5mm. The dial is sunburst silver ray with sword hands and baton markers. It has a cap gold medal on the caseback, with second hand hacking feature. The watch is in excellent original condition, with only minor hairline scratches on the case. It has been fully serviced — including movement disassembly and oiled, gasket cleaning — ensuring it runs reliably. The watch is fitted on a custom-made micro stitching 1940s strap from Hoa Sa added a touch of style to an already classic.
