For sale is this vintage Seiko 7005-8000 Automatic made in Japan in December of 1970. The star of the show is this beautifully patinaed/tropical dial which was once a silver sunburst but over time has become a lovely light rosé from the middle. It has classic Seiko design even akin to Grand Seiko case design as well as sharp dauphine hands. It houses the calibre 7005 which is considered very robust and a workhorse movement. Typical of the 70s, it has a cyclops over the nicely framed date window. Japan-made in the Daini factory at the time of the fierce rivalry with the Suwa factory - proudly sports the Daini factory logo on the dial as well as large on the case back. On the topic of the case back, "Waterproof" is written on the back before it became illegal to write that (all watches are not waterproof past a certain depth hence why they now have to put "water resistant" to the rated depth). Under a centimetre thick, decent for an auto. Original crystal, original finish. Good condition for its age, general wear, a few scratches on the crystal. Strap also barely worn but not brand new.
