Hi everyone, for sale today is an interesting Omega 166.033 Black Racing dial

1. General introduction
A very nice stainless steel Omega 166.033, 34.5mm, black racing dial, solid grooved hour markers with lume, original Omega 1037/564 bracelet.
Brand: Omega; Model: DeVille; Reference: 166.033.

2. Detail

Dial: Original balck racing dial in good condition. A tiny rounded scratch between 46 and 47 (as shown in photos below). Solid grooved hour markers with lume; baton hands with lume; all lumes on hands and hour markers are rotten or lost but you can hardly see anything strange on this black dial; faceted date-aperture frame; prints, hands, hour markers are all good.
Case: The diameter is 34.5mm without the crown in fair condition. Original Omega knurled crown.
Movement: Caliber 565 with quickset date function. The watch is running, all functions work as they should. Serial number is 27197640, dated to 1968. Freshly serviced in Mar 2025.

Glass: Original with Omega logo, no visible scratches.
Bracelet: Original Omega 7 row bracelet reference 1037 with 564 end-links in good condition; triple fold clasp featuring micro-adjust with Omega logo.
Accessory: Watch only.
Overall, this is a nice example of the reference.

Founded at La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland in 1848 by 23-year-old Louis Brandt who assembled key-wound precision pocket watches from parts supplied by local craftsmen. He travelled throughout Europe selling his watches from Italy to Scandinavia by way of England, his chief market. After Louis Brandt's death in 1879, his two sons Louis-Paul and Cesar, troubled by irregular deliveries of questionable quality, abandoned the unsatisfactory assembly workshop system in favour of in-house manufacturing and total production control. Due to the greater supply of manpower, communications and energy in Bienne, the enterprise moved into a small factory in January 1880, then bought the entire building in December. Two years later the company moved into a converted spinning-factory in the Gurzelen district of Bienne, where headquarters are still situated today. Their first series-produced calibres, Labrador and Gurzelen, as well as, the famous Omega calibre of 1894, would ensure the brand's marketing success.
