The 9943 movement was released in 1978, boasting an impressive +/- 10s per year accuracy. The Grand Quartz was only second to the Superior Quartz in terms of accuracy in Seiko’s line-up. In 1978, the price of a Grand Quartz was around $470 USD, which is equivalent to $2300 USD today. This model is still a sought after piece in collections, and the design has stood the test of time.
