Camel Trophy watches were some of the most sought-after accessories during the 1990s. In Europe (at least in Portugal), many young folks worked hard to buy one of these pieces. This is one the rarest: the “Bullhead” chronograph reference 469.3080.3089. Watches from this series had cases made from recycled metal, according to the certificate in the instruction manual – “I personally witnessed the smelting down of household appliances, tyre rims, roof trusses, electric wire, beverage cans, etc”. Pretty cool! Camel Trophy watches from the 90s were made by Mondaine, which means they had some real watchmaking behind them. With 100m water resistance, they weren’t toys. However, the original sailcloth strap with red stitching has some wear, but nothing major.
