I have owned many and looked at hundreds of Omega Suverän and honestly never seen a better example than this one.

The case is exceptionally well preserved and among all polished and worn examples out there this one really stands out.
This is a rugged sports watch that was made in a time when watches was worn as a tool and therefore very few have stood their 80 year life as good as this one.

A preserved glossy black gilt dial, railroad minute markers and puffy matching lume are all uncommon to find on their own. But to find them all in one watch and in addition to the exceptionally good case its almost impossible.

It comes with its original box that also is in very good condition.

The Omega Suverän with reference 2400 already have lots of information on the web so I will just keep it to the basic stuff:
Suverän was sold exclusively in Sweden during world war 2 when the government in Sweden made an agreement with Omega to make a watch that the government could sell through watchmakers to the public and earn some money. It was launched 1944 with the cal. 30 T2 movement.

Therefore the Swedish text on the caseback ANTIMAGNETISK-VATTENTÄT-STÖTSKYDDAD meaning "ANTIMAGNETIC-WATERPROOF-SHOCKPROOF".
Its a well built and large watch for its age measuring at 35,5mm excluding the crown and takes 18mm straps.

The case had three generations and this is the first generation with no "Suverän" text on the caseback, making it an early example and produced probably 1944.

Dial is glossy black and will even look a little brown in sunlight, glossy black dials are very uncommon on the Suveräns and not many have survived this good. The lume is consistent with some minor flaws on the hands, some darker colour towards the center on and some inte the middle of minute hand.

Case is as already described very well preserved with thick lugs, sharp edges and lots of gods left. I obviously cant say its unpolished but I have at least not seen a better one I can compare its original shapes with.

Cal 30t2 movement that is running strong and keeping accurate time, but no known service history.

The watch will be sold head only or with a simple leather strap of your choice and with its original box, the oyster bracelet in the pictures will not be included but can be discussed to be sold with the watch.
