**Summary**: For sale is a very interesting Chinese watch from Haofa. This model's standout feature is the intricate, revolving guilloche dial, on which several playful carp swim. The exposed balance wheel and dial are located on a mobile plate, which revolves around the center point of the dial face once every 60 minutes. In other words, the carp swim around the dial--a classic Chinese motif symbolizing harmony and fortune. This watch's interesting rotating dial is achieved using a modern variant of the (very rare) and classic carousel design of Bahne Bonniksen, who designed it in the1890s to compete with Abraham Breguet's technically brilliant but complicated tourbillon mechanism. Bonniksen's resulting design, named "carousel", [was patented in 1895](https://patents.google.com/patent/US549287A/en) and survives to this day as one of the few mechanisms invented to address the variance in accuracy caused by gravity. Very few watch manufacturers have attempted a modern carousel caliber. The only ones (to my knowledge) who have done so are Haofa and Shanghai Watch Factory. Blancpain has marketed a "carousel" mechanism in the recent past, but this is a misnomer -- Blancpain's mechanism it is not actually anything like the true carousel mechanism of Bonniksen but more similar to an eccentric tourbillon.
