[WTS] Vintage (1970s) Sicura (Breitling) Slide Rule watch for sale. Bracelet is a reproduction (authentic) JB Champion stainless steel 20mm brick-link like the ones used in NASAs Apollo program, (as seen on Omega Speedmasters of the era) and this thing feels SWEET on the wrist. Clasp grabs and holds fast as it should, NOS condition. The new guys that are reproducing this style bracelet are legit and they killed it on this one. All the weight you want, just like the vintage ones, but NOS condition and it doesn’t cost $1k+. (I paid $125-ish iirc) Full disclosure is the rule at all times in my watch deals. This one (the bracelet) is a repro-but a good one, enough said? The Sicura Slide Rule watch is the Anthony Michael Hall of watches, if watches were 1980s movies. Nerdy but cool to the extreme, you either appreciate it as a throwback to the ‘60s-‘70s space race Apollo era, or the disco-funk revival thang..... but this piece is actually very functional to the Nth-degree. The watch is in really nice “unpolished” condition, and functions as it should. Shows some scuffs and wear on the caseback, but nothing crazy. Nothing that you wouldn’t find on any watch of this era. Both of the left side crowns function to rotate their under-crystal bezels. The right side features a fly-back chronometer function, demarcated with the red ring on the crown, and the lower crown sets time and date. Ch Clk out all my pics, I tried to snap off the photos with the chrono running so nothing got obscured or covered up. Hands sport the original lume, aged to a greenish tint, and the giant red arrow hour hand is the piece de resistance! Yes, there’s a LOT going on here! Crystal is clear and strong with no scuffs or scratches beyond what can be expected from a 40-ish year old timepiece. Dial is in phenomenal shape, and the indices (and hands) lume is original, so it glows for a brief few moments before it fades away. It had the patina of age that is so sought-after in the watch community these days. Can’t fake it, it’s either original or replicated, and this one is def real. Both of the outer bezels function perfectly and rotate smoothly to allow someone far smarter than I to use the slide rule functions. There’s #s and coordinates and sprockets and whatever all over the bezels. I understand the watch part of this thing, but other than that I’m lost. This thing is an order of magnitude above my pay grade, mathematically speaking. But the watch is in great shape for its age, it’s comfortable and light, but wears like its on fire. EVERYONE sees this damn thing. There’s no “fly under the radar” with this one. I hope you like talking watches, cause the next owner is going to have a conversation-starter pack. It’s busy and too much going on and jumbled and awkward and AMAZING all at the same time. *Not for the wall flowers. But it’s fun and I loved it for a while, but it’s time for this beast to find a new home. I cannot speak towards its service history, but it functions well and no complaints. I purchased it on eBay prob 6 months ago. That’s quite the long run for a watch flipper like me. These don’t come up for sale often, and the few that are for sale are bringing $1k-$1.5k. This one is nice, not exactly a beater, but I wore it like one day a week sometime, no problem. Holds good time +\- 4 minutes a day, and doesn’t run down after a day on the shelf. Good power reserve. Good, honest shape but not a museum piece, ya know? Plus the JB Champion bracelet, my asking price is a good value, and I’m open to reasonable offers. I am asking $900 for this one and I’ll cover shipping with tracking in CONUS. I have done many deals and can give references if needed on this site and other forums. I don’t BS so you don’t BS. I’ll accept PayPal at [email protected] and always willing to entertain trade offers, (as long as you don’t mind me turning down that $65 Swatch from the ‘80s) More pics available to anyone that’s interested. Thanks! Here’s more pics and time stamp and all that good stuff..... https://imgur.com/gallery/mXPlVSZ
