"One of Not Many"
From my personal collection. Most Vacheron & Constantin watches delivered to the Corps of Engineers were chronographs with movements from outside suppliers. Only 2,000 of these half-chronometers were ordered, manufactured by Vacheron & Constantin themselves. This number is less than the chronographs and even fewer survived, making this watch a rare, historic, and affordable V&C for the collector. This example is fully functional but service is recommended if regular use is intended.

Dial undamaged white enamel, original luminescent Arabic numerals, outer minute ring, sunk subsidiary seconds, blued steel luminescent cathedral hands.

Case in 0.900 silver, round, 51mm four-body "bassine" case, engraved on cuvette: "Vacheron & Constantin Geneve". Engraved on back: "Property of Corps of Engineers U.S.A. No.10540". Some scratches and oxidation.

Movement Calibre R.A. 19''' 194 A.R.T., stem-winding, 15 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance with fine regulator, Breguet hairspring, gilt bridges and plates.
