For sale is this vintage Garrard long service watch. This watch was presented as a long service award in 1963 to a man who worked for Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI), ICI for much of its history is Britain’s largest manufacturer. While official British Crown Jewelers, Garrard had these watches commissioned to be made in Switzerland, all of which I've come across destined for the same purpose as service awards for long-time ICI employees. Garrard seemed to have taken pride in these as they even had the A.Schild 1430 hand wind movements signed Garrard. The case is all stainless steel, 33mm in diameter, with drilled lugs. Lug to lug is 40mm, and it's 9.5mm thin from the caseback to the top of the domed acrylic crystal. Although it's hard to capture, the long syringe hands are blued, and the second hand is a deep burgundy. The dial, with its radium numerals, has aged beautifully.
