Hello watchex, For sale today is the absolutely gorgeous Soko Shadow from the Four Seasons American line - the Grand Seiko SBGA429. This watch is stunning in person, and pictures really don’t do it justice. The dial and hand-polished indices will catch the faintest light, reflecting a beautiful mirror shine. This particular watch is in 9.9/10 shape. If there’s a scratch on it, I can’t see it. Prior owner wore it exclusively on the GS leather strap, so the bracelet is brand new, never worn. The only marks I see on the entire watch are extremely small scuffs from strap changes on the lug undersides. Case, lugs, and flanks are perfect and the Zaratsu hand-polishing is a work of art. The 9R65 Spring Drive powering the watch is rated to 15 seconds per month, and this example has gained .7 seconds over 6 days observed!! This watch will come full kit - double box, beautiful high-quality factory leather strap with GS buckle, unworn factory bracelet, papers, hang tag, and registered warranty card with a mid-July date, meaning this has 4 years and 11 months left on the warranty. The company was founded in 1881, when Kintarō Hattori opened a watch and jewelry shop called "K. Hattori" (服部時計店 Hattori Tokeiten?) in the Ginza area of Tokyo, Japan. Eleven years later, in 1892, he began to produce clocks under the name Seikosha (精工舎 Seikōsha?), meaning roughly "House of Exquisite Workmanship". According to Seiko's official company history, titled "A Journey In Time: The Remarkable Story of Seiko" (2003), Seiko is a Japanese word meaning "exquisite" or "success" ("exquisite" is usually written 精巧 from Chinese jīngqiǎo, while the meaning "success" is usually written 成功 from Chinese chénggōng).

Seiko is perhaps best known for its wristwatches, all of which were at one time produced entirely in-house. This includes not only major items such as microgears, motors, hands, crystal oscillators, batteries, sensors, LCDs but also minor items such as the oils used in lubricating the watches and the luminous compounds used on the hands and the dials.
