*Omega introduced its Seamaster line in 1948. Today it remains Omegas longest continuous running production model. Originally it was released with the advertising catch phrase: "For town, sea and country." A nod to the intent behind the design. A watch that could go anywhere and do anything. Perfect for every type of occasion. The Omega Seamaster was introduced with the references 2577 and 2576 with center second or sub second configurations respectively. They were powered by bumper automatic movements - sometimes chronometer certified. They featured a variety of dial configurations with some exceedingly more scarce, rare and therefore coveted than others.*       *This example, an Omega Seamaster reference 2577, is of particular interest: it features applied Breguet numerals. Breguet numerals have always maintained a special place in the hearts of vintage watch enthusiasts and collectors. Some of the most rare and coveted examples from other watch manufacturers such as Patek Phillipe have featured these numerals. Subjectively speaking I find Breguet numerals to be much more aesthetically pleasing over their Arabic counterparts. The case has previously been polished in the past. The original beveled lugs have become faded from previous polishes. The case presents with light wear commensurate with its age. The crystal has been replaced some time in the past. It is completed by a modern OEM Omega replacement crown that is the correct style for the reference.  **DIAL:** The original dial is in good shape. The dial has a linen esk texture to it. It sports silver, applied, Breguet numerals at the 12, 3, 6, and 9 position with alternated dagger style hour markers. The lume is beautiful, full and puffy and has taken on a wonderful patina to it. The lume on the hands has aged a shade or two lighter than the dial.  **MOVEMENT:**  Omega bumper automatic caliber 354. The movement has just returned from service which cost $400. The invoice will be provided with the sale of the watch and will come with a 1 year warranty.  **BRACELET:** Will come on the brand new pictured strap.
