Vintage 1966 Omega Seamaster, reference 166.002 with an Omega 562 movement. Received a complete service a few years ago from a local vintage watch specialist repair shop and dealer. This classic watch looks great, with only minor swirls and marks on the case and back of the lugs. Looks fantastic on the wrist. To my knowledge and from appearances, it’s never been polished. Nice sharp lugs and bevel on the case. Keeps good time, the dial and stainless steel case are in excellent condition, the hands are in great condition, and the crystal doesn’t appear to have any marks - and it has the Omega logo etching in the center. The casebook is polished with the embossed Seamaster logo. Comes on a new black leather strap - I believe it’s a Hirsch. Will include a second band with an Omega logo buckle. 34.5mm case, 40.3mm lug-to-lug. 18mm lug width. Asking **$725,** shipped to the CONUS, payment via PayPal. No trades at this time, please. Founded at La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland in 1848 by 23-year-old Louis Brandt who assembled key-wound precision pocket watches from parts supplied by local craftsmen. He travelled throughout Europe selling his watches from Italy to Scandinavia by way of England, his chief market. After Louis Brandt's death in 1879, his two sons Louis-Paul and Cesar, troubled by irregular deliveries of questionable quality, abandoned the unsatisfactory assembly workshop system in favour of in-house manufacturing and total production control. Due to the greater supply of manpower, communications and energy in Bienne, the enterprise moved into a small factory in January 1880, then bought the entire building in December. Two years later the company moved into a converted spinning-factory in the Gurzelen district of Bienne, where headquarters are still situated today. Their first series-produced calibres, Labrador and Gurzelen, as well as, the famous Omega calibre of 1894, would ensure the brand's marketing success.
