Continuing the offloading of special (to me, at least) watches in favor of new hobbies I bring you this 1991 Tudor Mini-Sub. ​ This is a special one for me as it is a birth-year watch. It is also a fantastic size at 34mm, absolutely perfect on my 6.25” wrist. As such, this reference has a Rolex stamped case back as well as a Rolex-emblemed crown. These were more affordable alternatives to the iconic submariner and as such have gained quite a cult following from enthusiasts. This particular reference arrived to me in spectacular condition, and I have worn it lightly in my time with it, leading to some light scratches mostly on the clasp. The lume has developed a spectacular creamy patina, the crystal is free of major scratches and the movement is keeping fantastic time. Crown screws down securely but I’d recommend a pressure test for peace of mind if you intend to take it swimming. I have not submerged it at all and opted to take it off when at the beach, treating it as the vintage watch that it is (we’re getting old huh). The bracelet is in great shape and doesn’t have much wear or stretch. It is currently sized to my 6.25” wrist but includes links that will make it wear comfortably up to 7.25”, probably slightly more with the multiple microadjust slots. I truly did not think I’d sell this one, but it has been sitting too much and I’d rather have it go to someone who will continue to enjoy it as I have. I had a local buyer lined up for it, but they have passed up my offer, so now I bring it to you all.
