Greetings Watchexchange! Up for sale is a lovely King Seiko 5625-7000 from July of 1969. The King Seiko lineup represents the pinnacle of vintage Seiko, and the bold angular cases follow the "Grammar of Design" principles laid out by designer Taro Tanaka which still shape modern high end Seiko designs. The 56xx family of movements were the first automatic KS calibers, with hand winding and hacking. This example is fully serviced and performs wonderful. The 56xx family of movements has a plastic quickset rotor which can be damaged if the quickset is operated between 9pm and 3am, and is something to be cautious about with this family of movements. The rotor on this particular example was examined and confirmed to be in good working condition. The watch comes supplied on an 18mm black aftermarket leather strap. The case has been polished, keeping the original geometry intact. (The top right lug has some distortion, possibly from a dent before the watch was polished but is rather slight and can be seen in the attached photographs). The solid gold medallion on the caseback is in excellent condition, rarely seen on vintage KS watches. The sunburst dials with applied indices is in beautiful original condition, with slight patina around the edge. The lacquer is perfectly intact maintaining a bright white colour uniformly across the dial. The watch is priced at USD 399 paid via Zelle or Wise, shipped via UPS.
