For sale is my Seiko Prospex Solar Diver “Black Series” Limited Edition in good condition. Bought new in 2018 and it was occasionally worn up until a year ago. This is a great beach and other active day watch and just has a cool color scheme and wears great. It is solar quartz, so set it and forget it. Selling as it does not get the wrist time and consolidating my collection. Watch is located in the US. Reference & Dimensions: SNE493P1, 43.5 mm; 20 mm lug width. V157 movement Condition: Crystal flawless, case shows no signs of wear. Bezel has minor scratches around 50 marker. Original lume pip at 60 mark fell out and epoxied (see close up photo). The OEM resin strap has been worn and in good condition. Box and papers: No box, but papers included. Price: Asking $299 OBO via Zelle, Wise or Paypal F&F, priority shipping and insurance included to CONUS. Paypal G&S accepted with buyer paying fee. The company was founded in 1881, when Kintarō Hattori opened a watch and jewelry shop called "K. Hattori" (服部時計店 Hattori Tokeiten?) in the Ginza area of Tokyo, Japan. Eleven years later, in 1892, he began to produce clocks under the name Seikosha (精工舎 Seikōsha?), meaning roughly "House of Exquisite Workmanship". According to Seiko's official company history, titled "A Journey In Time: The Remarkable Story of Seiko" (2003), Seiko is a Japanese word meaning "exquisite" or "success" ("exquisite" is usually written 精巧 from Chinese jīngqiǎo, while the meaning "success" is usually written 成功 from Chinese chénggōng).

Seiko is perhaps best known for its wristwatches, all of which were at one time produced entirely in-house. This includes not only major items such as microgears, motors, hands, crystal oscillators, batteries, sensors, LCDs but also minor items such as the oils used in lubricating the watches and the luminous compounds used on the hands and the dials.
