This watch was manufactured in the 4th quarter of 1959 (as stamped inside the case back).

The serial number between the lugs reads 491976, which corresponds correctly to this date.

The 1210 Calibre movement is correct for early production 6694's.

I believe the watch would have had a radium dial and hands originally, however these have been replaced at some point during its life with an updated tritium dial and handset.

The bracelet is genuine Rolex, but not the original one this watch came with. The current bracelet dates to 1986.

The serial number and model number between the lugs are difficult to read without magnification, as the early hollow end link bracelets were notorious for rubbing, plus case polishing over the years has likely worn them too.

The watch currently fits my 6.5 inch wrist reasonably loosely, plus I have one extra link.. but those with big wrists would probably have to source extra links to fit.

I have never checked the exact accuracy, but it has always run very reliably for me in the 8 years I've had it. Winding is very smooth and nice, as is setting the time.

I had all the waterproof seals/o rings replaced in 2018 and it passed a 3 bar pressure test at the time. Rarely worn since then.

Overall, not the most untouched/unused Rolex you will ever find.. but for a 65 year old watch it looks remarkably fresh and clean.. it really is lovely to look at, and very comfortable on the wrist.
