Borel/Doxa 200T Sharkhunter 36 mm, automatic; lug width: 20mm In 1978, Ernest Borel and Doxa came under the ownership of Aubrey Frères — a company that happily shared model nomenclature, parts, and more, leading to the creation of certain ‘hybrid’ models, for lack of a better term. This SUB200 T Sharkhunter Diver from the 1980s is one such watch. Though it features a profile that’s somewhere between that of a Submariner and a Doxa SUB 200, the carry-over from the later brand is easy to discern. Housed in a 36mm stainless steel case with an acrylic crystal, a screw-down crown, and a dive timing bezel with a black insert, it features a matte black Tritium dual with a matching DOXA-style handset, and a date at 3:00.  Powered by the workhorse ETA 2872 automatic movement — a predecessor of the modern 2824-2 family — it comes paired to a black Tropic-style rubber strap with a stainless steel pin buckle. The tall, easily grippable bezel; the 6-notch, screw-down caseback; the highly legible handset.
